Dedications

I dedicate this work to our Lord Jesus Christ who is worthy of all praise, honor, and glory. He deserves the full credit for He has made all of this possible. It is Christ in me the hope of glory that does the work.

He has been my all in all since I surrendered my life to Him. He has encouraged me and kept me going when I would have given up many times over. He has made so many ways when I was in need.

Jesus Christ has brought me through this process and gave me all the things necessary for its completion. He has answered my prayers and is my faithful companion. This is a dream come true, and it is all thanks to my LORD God and Savior Jesus Christ.

Introduction

For the Kingdom of God and the glory of Jesus Christ who forever reigns above all. “For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ” (Ephesians 4:12). To be a helper of another’s joy, to assist in the building of faith. To share Jesus Christ and His love for the world.

This book contains a collection of artwork and writings I have created with Jesus Christ. The artwork is mixed media that includes digital art, photographs, and paintings. There is an accompanying devotion to each work of art for another’s enrichment.

If there is any good in me, any good that you see, it is Jesus Christ in me and His workmanship. It is all His doing, credit, and glory. I can do nothing without Him but with Him I can do all things.

Choose the Good Part

“But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her” (Luke 10:42). When we make Jesus our priority, we can trust that He will take care of us and is working all things together for our good.[1] We might not always like or understand His ways, but His followers are called to walk by faith.

When Jesus was a guest at Martha’s home, she wanted to be a good host and became preoccupied with different tasks while her sister Mary sat at His feet. Martha thought she was doing the right thing by performing the traditional duties of a host, but Jesus said Mary did the one thing that was necessary.[2] When the storms come, and the busyness of life takes hold, make time to sit at the King’s feet and know He is God.

Hope in God

Beloved, despair not for your hope is in the sovereign Lord. Our God “give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness” (Isaiah 61:3). Remember the days of angst that have plagued you and past as though a breath. All the times you dwelled upon the worst that never came to manifest. Even when the waves broke through and beat upon you with relentless pace, did they overcome you? Were they able to sweep you away?

No, nothing can separate you from the love of God, nor will He loosen His grip.[1] The Lord will not fail you; your Eternal Rock is a sure foundation. “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble” (Psalm 46:1).

Take Off the Old Man

“For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved” (John 3:17). While we were dead in our sin God came down to this world, put on the flesh of man and died for us. His name is Jesus Christ, the name above every name, the Most High. Our God left Heaven to come here so we may be reconciled to Him. He suffered a human life in part so that we would know our High Priest is not a stranger to our struggles, pains, and weaknesses.

“But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed” (Isaiah 53:5). Knowing He would endure all of this He came and went to the cross. For all who believe in Him will have everlasting life. The Lord Jesus Christ imputes to us His righteousness and we receive the forgiveness of sins by grace through faith in Him.[1]

As new creations, we have grace, healing, and peace with God. We do not need to be held captive by destructive and harmful coping mechanisms. We can come to the throne of grace and receive the help we need for He cares for us. Bring your troubles into His presence and allow His light to shine on your wounds. Be liberated from the woes of yesterday and the old man ways that add to our suffering.

For the wages of sin is death, “Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamor, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you” (Ephesians 4:31-32).[2] Taking off the old behavior patterns of yesterday that no longer serve you and put on the new person God has always intended for you to be. Press forward to freedom, hold onto hope and walk in love.
